About me

I studied civil engineering in electronics at KU Leuven and started out writing software. Then product management, then senior roles in international marketing and strategy. Seventeen years at BT, on strategy, innovation and taking products to market, across Europe.

Juggling an international career with three sons was not easy, so in 2011 I joined Telenet. Fourteen years there as an executive, leading business teams, HR, legal and regulatory, communication and corporate affairs, transformation and the move to an agile operating model.

In January 2026 I left. I had been there and done that. Now I do something else.

The bridge between technology and human-focused leadership has been the recurring theme the whole way through. I believe technology can be a force for good if we use it in the right way. STEMpathy, I call it. STEM skills combined with the openness to listen, to care, and to lead in a human way.

Today I give a keynote every two or three weeks. I mentor several young leaders. I sit on four boards, at Bnode, Imec, ECS and Aedifica, on the remuneration committee of all four and chairing the one at ECS. I am vice chair of VARIO. I chair the STEM Platform Vlaanderen, and the governance table of De Bestuurder in Leuven.

Outside of work: three sons, friends who keep me grounded, books, cycling and hiking. I love being outdoors. It is no coincidence that many of my mentoring sessions happen while walking.
